Ugg boots are the No. 1 most exploited brand used by a new breed of “social spammers” who use social media to trick people into clicking malicious links.
According to Palo Alto-based Impermium Corp., which tracks and fights social spam, malicious messages about fashion and electronics were three times more popular than those using pornography as a lure.
The ubiquitous, comfortable Ugg boots were twice as popular in social spam as Gucci and five times as popular as Prada, Impermium said.
